Delete your account

Last updated 12 August 2026

This page explains how to delete your Plainly account, exactly what is removed, and what is kept. Plainly is operated by Rahul Sharma, Baner, Pune, Maharashtra, India.

The short version. Open Plainly, go to Profile → Delete everything, and confirm. Your account, your photographs, your scan history and your scan balance are all removed. Nothing is kept that identifies you.

Want to remove only some of your data and keep your account? See section 5.

1. Deleting from the app

  1. Open Plainly and sign in.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Under Data, tap Delete everything.
  4. Confirm. Deletion happens immediately — there is no waiting period and no confirmation email to click.

This deletes the account itself, not only its contents. You are signed out and cannot sign back in with it.

2. Deleting without the app

If you have uninstalled Plainly or cannot sign in, email plainly@airahul.com from the address you signed up with, asking us to delete your account.

We will confirm within 30 days, and in practice much sooner. We may need to ask you to verify the address so that nobody else can delete your account.

3. What is deleted

WhatWhen
Your account (email address, name, sign-in identity) Immediately
Every photograph you uploaded that has not already expired Immediately
Scan thumbnails kept for your history Immediately
Your scan history and every analysis result Immediately
Your scan balance and subscription record on our side Immediately
Health and dietary flags, and anything else stored on your phone When you uninstall the app — they were never sent to us

4. What is kept, and why

Nothing that identifies you is kept. Two things survive deletion, and neither can be traced back to you:

5. Deleting some of your data, without deleting your account

You do not have to delete your whole account to get rid of data. To remove part of it, email plainly@airahul.com from the address you signed up with and tell us what you want removed. We can delete:

Say which of these you want and include the email address on your account so we can find it. We will confirm within 30 days, and normally much sooner. We may ask you to verify the address first, so that nobody else can delete your data.

Removing data does not affect your remaining scans, your subscription, or your ability to keep using Plainly. It cannot be undone.

You can also stop new thumbnails being kept at any time, without emailing anyone: turn off Keep scan thumbnails in Profile → Data. That stops future ones being stored; email us if you also want the existing ones removed.

6. Your subscription

Deleting your Plainly account does not cancel a Google Play subscription, and Google will keep charging you until you cancel it there. Cancel first, at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions, then delete your account.

Deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund of the current period. Refunds are handled by Google under Google Play's refund policy.

7. Deletion is permanent

There is no undo and no grace period. Your scan history cannot be recovered, and neither can any unused scans — including scans remaining on a paid subscription. If you sign up again later, you start with a new account and a new free allowance.
